Travel from Genting to Malacca by Bus
Rise and shine early today, as it’s our last day in Genting Highlands before we head to Malacca! We’ll start the day with a hearty breakfast at Killiney, fueling up for a late lunch later on.
After breakfast, we’ll make our way to the Genting SkyAvenue Bus Terminal, where we’ll check in at 10 AM for our 11 AM bus to Malacca. The journey will take around four hours, so it’s a great time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive.
As we near Malacca, some of us will transfer to a minibus to continue our journey, while others will head back to Johor Bahru and Singapore. It’s just a 30-minute drive to The Hatten Hotel. Feeling famished after the journey, we’ll waste no time and head out for the famous Malacca Chicken Rice Balls, just a quick 5-6 minute walk from the hotel.
After lunch, we decided to walk to our hotel, which was about a 30-minute stroll away. While it might sound far, the distance felt manageable since we’ve been hiking regularly over the past few years. Along the way, we passed by several attractions we plan to visit later—almost like a little preview of what’s to come. It was also the perfect opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the area.
The Malacca Baba House Hotel is a charming heritage boutique hotel located near Jonker Street, in the heart of Malacca’s historic district. Housed in a beautifully restored Peranakan-style building, it offers guests an authentic glimpse into the rich Baba-Nyonya culture with its traditional décor, antique furnishings, and intricate woodwork. Combining old-world charm with modern amenities, it provides a unique and comfortable stay, perfect for exploring Malacca’s cultural landmarks and attractions just a short walk away.
